Happy Monday!! I would like to start today by just sharing with you the amazing first impression I left the guy who works for the restaurant on the first floor of my office building. I came to work with a button down white collar shirt, black blazer, and skinny black trousers to work. I also had my Dooney and Bourke cross-body handbag, which I love dearly for it’s practicality and classic style. As I walked into the little restaurant on the first floor of my office building, I kept wondering why the guy kept staring at me as I placed and paid for my breakfast order…. “You’re new to the building right?”
Me: “Yes, yes I am.”
Server: Staring at me in an awkward way. “You have a nice day…”
Me: “You have a great start to your week.” I slowly grab my bag from him and he just keeps staring. I walk out, and the security lady says good morning, and then…
Security: “Your blouse is open.”
Me: “Good mor… what??”
Security: “Your blouse IS OPEN” She is now signaling to my entire chest.
I look down, and there is my boosom IN FULL DISPLAY. No wonder this guy kept looking at me, and taking his sweet time to just hand over my guava pastry!! The descent thing to do would have been to at least say “hey, by the way your blouse is open, but you have a nice a rack so don’t worry” But no, now he has been branded as the creepy man who can’t even pay a girl a due compliment. Thank goodness I don’t embarrass easily, and I know I have nothing to be embarrassed about in that area. I said thank you and as I tried to button it up (which proved impossible with my lunch bag, breakfast bag, traitorous Dooney and Bourke cross-body handbag which was the culprit of undoing my blouse). I got to the elevator with another lady and set my things down.
Me: “I’m sorry, could you please press four? I’m having an early flashing of my chest this morning that I feel I need to get under control.”
Lady: laughing at this point, as she sees me trying to button up. “Of course, it happens.”
Let me tell you, all I can hope for is that incident happens today when I go buy my new car. I could use a couple of extra bucks off the price 😉
