For some reason I found myself looking at some pictures when I was younger today, and it reminded me of how much bullying and hardship I had as a kid. I had a hard time growing up here. You see, I didn’t know the language, and well, I wasn’t Cuban so it was really hard to fit in because as much as we are both Hispanic we don’t share the same kind of culture and customs… even Spanish is different between us! I wish I could have told the younger me that it would be a rocky road, but that I would eventually grow-up, wear regular jeans, embrace that feeling of not fitting in and owning it, and meet some pretty amazing people! Oh, and most importantly, that I wouldn’t age as rapidly as the girls I wished I looked like when I was in middle school and high school. I hope that in a couple of more years I look at my life as it was now and say “man, I worked hard, and look at how much more I have accomplished, and most importantly: I look happy!”
So here are some pictures I found that I thought I’d share.
I’m a lucky girl. There are a ton of other pictures I could share but I’ll save them or another time 🙂
