I have done some crazy stunts in my younger years (if you’re a parent with teenage daughters… I hope you never find out the crazy things she did). I had a rebellious stage, it lasted about a year, and then I calmed down and did what I thought was the normal ‘I’m in my twenties’ shenanigans. I am happy to report that none ended in any arrests, or (obviously death). I am mostly talking about stunts you do when taking your relationship to next level and experimenting with different places of where to do the ‘deed’ (or insert the cool word they are using now). Now that I think about it with a more adult like head on my shoulders I feel like I was more like a dog marking my spot; we did here, and here, and here (all the while my tail wagging). There are the usual places one resorts to when you live with your parents; the car (where a cop flashed his flashed light at us) , the motel (one time and never again), the back of the court house of appeals (not fun getting over the fence with a skirt on), your office (and then being busted by a co-worker after you quickly put your clothes on backwards because the lights were off), the stadium bathroom (automatic toilets really give you away), on I-95… well, you get the point. I look at the places I’ve marked my spot with a nostalgic feeling… usually followed by laughter.
I know that times have changed and things are scarier and more dangerous out there in the world, but being mauled by a lion while taking your sweetheart for some private one on one time is not one of the things I would imagine would go through my mind. There have been some places that I know I would never go and venture again or ever, but now I will add a bushes in African villages to that list. A man and woman were attacked mid coitus when a lion came and attacked them. The man survived, but the woman was mauled and killed. The man eventually went and notified authorities, but the most shocking thing about all this is that it seems to have happened before! It was reported that back in 2002 the same exact thing happened to another couple! Maybe this could serve as a cautionary story for parents when talking about the birds and the bees.
