I wont deny that I too have used the musical stylings of Marvin Gaye to get the opposite sex in the mood, but I am happy to know that I am atleast in the company of Pandas! The zookeepers at the Edinburgh zoo have been trying to get Tian Tian to make a move on Yang Guang (another male afraid to make the first move, sheesh!). From the report it appears to be quiet difficult for pandas to seal the deal as we like to say. I don’t mean to be brash but one cannot just thrust one panda onto another and hope the will copulate at first glance! I am sure Yang Guang is a lady like any other and would like to wined and dinned. Maybe some fresh bamboo would do the trick. I am also sure that she would not mind if she saw a nice shiny white and black coat (females like a male who takes care of himself).
But if this male mammal shows to be anything like our male homo sapien sapiens (yes, there is two sapiens in it, because it is the correct way) he is going to also need some privacy. Men tend to shy away if there is a big crowd waiting or watching the courtship. No man likes to be singled out when he was unable to get the girls number at the bar, and I am sure Tian Tian feels the same way. I say leave the music and give them their space, some mood lighting can’t hurt either.
I hope in a couple of months we hear good news from the panda front in Edinburgh, like 10 months (I am sure Yang Guang isn’t going to give it up that easily).
